NEUROCOSMETICS, the project through which Sesderma and AINIA are investigating the emotional impact of cosmetics

NEUROCOSMETICS

Neurocosmetics continues to open new avenues of research at the intersection of science, wellbeing and sensory perception. At Sesderma, we are committed to actively contributing to this progress.

Together with AINIA, we are participating in the NEUROCOSMETICS research project, an initiative focused on the development of innovative methodologies to evaluate neuronal response, cosmetic efficacy and the sensory experience associated with the use of cosmetic products and fragrances. The project integrates neuroscience and emotional analysis tools to study both the physiological response of the skin and the subjective and emotional perception of consumers.

The collaboration between both entities represents an important step forward in the incorporation of advanced technologies applied to cosmetic research, enabling the exploration of new evaluation models that are more precise, comprehensive and focused on the real user experience.

As part of the study, a formulation developed for nighttime skin care is being analysed, designed to support the skin’s natural regeneration processes and contribute to the balance of the skin’s biological rhythms during the night


The NEUROCOSMETICS project is funded by the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE) and the European Union through FEDER funds, within the framework of grants aimed at technological centres for the development of R&D projects in collaboration with companies.

This project reinforces Sesderma’s commitment to scientific innovation and the development of cosmetic solutions supported by cutting-edge technology, promoting new ways of understanding the relationship between skin, emotions and wellbeing.

The study results are expected during the second half of 2026.

Sesderma is a Spanish dermatological laboratory founded in 1989 by Dr. Gabriel Serrano, a world-renowned dermatologist.
