What What is GLYCOLIC ACID and why? does it work?
Glycolic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that has an intensive action on the most superficial layers of the skin, renewing it through a gentle exfoliating effect. It is extracted from sugar cane and is one of the most used active ingredients to treat the first lines of expression, lack of luminosity or skin damaged by the sun. “This AHA manages to stimulate cell regeneration of the superficial layers of the skin, resulting in epidermal renewal,” according to Dr. Serrano.
What are its benefits?
Due to the cellular renewal capacity of glycolic acid, after use the skin can look brighter and rejuvenated. In addition, it is a very positive active ingredient for regulating the texture of the skin, controlling acne-prone skin and progressively reducing the marks caused by it, or spots due to sun exposure. How should I use it?
After applying products with glycolic acid, as with other active ingredients with similar action, we must be especially careful with sun exposure, since our skin will be damaged. renewed and therefore more exposed to the action of UV rays. As Dr. Serrano advises: “For a person who has never used glycolic acid and, therefore, their skin is not affected by glycolic acid.
