On the occasion of the 30th celebration of the Sesderma founding, we presented our new ambassador of the brand in China, the popular actor and singer Ma Tian Yu, also known as Ray Ma. The event was attended by an exceptional patron, the international celebrity Georgina Rodríguez.
The presentation was held on Friday 11th October at the Shanghai Bellacio Hotel and hosted by Dr Gabriel Serrano, who evoked the journey of the history and evolution of the brand in the course of its 30 years, where he highlighted the sales success of the latest Sesderma’s product launches in the Asian market with Atopises and Mistology.
The celebration in China, of the 30th anniversary of the laboratories, was attended by a large number of guests, leaders of opinion and media, and created great expectations around the upcoming “double eleven” (11/11), the day of internet sales, par excellence, in China.
Ma Tian Yu, also known as Ray Ma, is a well-known actor and singer in Asia. Since 2006, his musical career goes hand in hand with his incursion in the cinema he and is currently one of the most popular actors of films and dramas in China. Ma Tian Yu will be our Sesderma China ambassador for the next 3 months, and the promotional plan includes social media (weibo, wechat, etc) and a powerful international advertising campaign.
Georgina Rodríguez is an Argentinian model, dancer and influencer with more than 13M followers on Instagram. Since 2016 she is the girlfriend of Cristiano Ronaldo and the mother of their last daughter, Alana Martina. Last 19 September, she attended the celebratory event of our 30th anniversary in Madrid Plaza de las Ventas, where Georgina was in charge of giving the Sesderma Women Award to the singer India Martínez for her professional career.

Since its creation in 1989, Sesderma has revolutionised the field of dermocosmetics thanks to its steady commitment with R+D+i. Our products are currently sold in more than 80 countries, we operate 22 with subsidiaries in the most strategic markets and employ more than 900 staff between the employees of the new HQ in Puzol (Valencia) and those of our subsidiaries globally. Moreover, the company enjoys an unmistakable family culture with the incorporation of his two elder sons, Gabriel Serrano and Juan Manuel Serrano from an early age. They both work in the company as the CEO and VP, respectively. Dr Gabriel Serrano, dermatologist and founder of the laboratory, acts as its president and travels the world giving masterclasses and participating in symposia in the most important congresses. But if anything characterises him, is that when in Valencia, he always holds consultation in his dermatology clinic, a testimony of his true passion for the work and patient attention.
The laboratory began its expansion in the 90’s, though its international presence has taken-off mostly in the past ten years. Thanks to its engagement with research, development and manufacture of dermocosmetic products Sesderma is today one of the most important Spanish companies in the world in its field, with a turnover that skyrocketed to 21 percent in 4 years. This is due, essentially, to a rigorous internationalization process that has yielded important results, especially in China, where Sesderma has achieved the status of best-selling Spanish dermocosmetics company in Europe.
During this time, the popularity and efficacy of Sesderma and the treatments by Mediderma Professional Care have grown almost on a par with its turnover. Moreover, in the last thirty years, sales have grown non-stop either, with its turnover multiplying threefold in the last years: from 33 million euros invoiced in 2014 to 80 million in 2018, almost 20 million more than the year before.
