On the occasion of Sesderma’s 30th anniversary, our president Dr. Gabriel Serrano decided to celebrate the founding of the company by holding the 1st Edition of the Women’s Awards, conceived as a recognition to women, who are the main users of the Sesderma products and a fundamental part of the company’s structure and culture.

The event took place last Thursday, 19th September at Plaza de Las Ventas in Madrid, and was chaired by Dr. Gabriel Serrano, together with his sons Juan Manuel Serrano and Gabriel Serrano Núñez, CEO and vice-president, respectively. A success story:

Since its creation in 1989, Sesderma revolutionised the dermocosmetics sector thanks to its ongoing commitment to R+D+i. Nowadays, our products are sold in over 80 countries, with 22 subsidiaries in strategic marketplaces and more than 900 employees including our new offices in Puzol (Valencia) and our subsidiaries all over the world. Moreover, the family-oriented character of the company became evident when the Doctor’s two elder sons joined the company at a very young age: Gabriel and Juan Manuel are CEO and Vice-President, respectively. Dr. Gabriel Serrano, dermatologist and founder of the laboratory, is the President and travels the world hosting master classes and conducting symposiums at major congresses. However, when he is in Valencia, he often holds consultations in his dermatology clinic, following his true passion for work and the care of his patients.

The laboratory started its expansion in the 90s, with its international presence enjoying an extraordinary leap in the last ten years. Its commitment to technology, development and the manufacturing of dermocosmetic products has allowed Sesderma to become a leading company in this sector. In four years, its turnover has increased by 21%, essentially thanks to a rigorous internationalisation process that has yielded excellent results. These are especially significant in China, where Sesderma has become the best-selling European dermocosmetics company.

Throughout these years, the popularity and effectiveness of Sesderma and the treatments of Mediderma Professional Care have grown almost in parallel to business figures. In the last three decades, sales have constantly increased, multiplying threefold its turnover in recent years: from 33 million euro in 2014 to 80 million euro in 2018, nearly 20 million more than the previous year.

“Sesderma listens to the skin and, by listening to it, we listen to the people”, states Dr. Gabriel Serrano, who maintains that “people come first”.

It is no coincidence that the values that inspire our company are the same that Dr. Gabriel Serrano applies in his daily life: knowledge, generosity and humanity drive our company culture.
